Ice Skating

Ice skating was a big hit! The kiddos showed perseverance and were very obedient. I was very thankful for Mya, Bobby, and Lois helping as it was ALOT of skates to take on and off.

Here are a couple pics ..

I will get more next time -- I hope :) I'm having some technical difficulties with a few of the pics that were shared with me at the moment.

For the month of March, we will plan on skating every Tuesday afternoon. The cost is $5/child or $10/ family each time. If you don't want your child to go, please plan on picking them up by 11:30 on Tuesday. We will go back to normal-ish Tuesdays in April. Please confirm your plans so I can let those renting the rink know -- sooner is better if possible.

Susan and I will be driving along with any other volunteers. Dan and Mya and Bobby have also volunteered to help but not sure if it will be every Tuesday and Dave has also volunteered to help a couple Tuesdays. Let me know if you are interested in helping. Kids will spread out between t…

Successful exploration

Here are a couple pics from last week... we don't always make awesome choices, but sometimes we do :)... happy and working together with kindness.

And snow!!!

Brass Family - Valentines - Friday

Hola! - Happy Friday - A couple more pics to round out the week.

Ms. Lois taught the kiddos about the trumpet on Thursday along with letting them give it a try. She also led a project where the kids created valentines for her to send to her daughter-in-law in Kuwait. Fun lesson about serving and geography. Thank-you Lois!

And sometimes it's just fun to play at a park after a fresh snow and a full week of learning.
God is good.

A side note - we talked about what it meant to 'Fear the Lord' today and the conversation was absolutely amazing. We have some great kids.... every one of them brings so much. - and we are all learning and growing.

Proverbs 1:7 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

I know there are many variations on the definition of discipline - but I like to draw on the root from the bible - disciple - to lead and guide - correcting with grace. Anyway - The discussion around this bible verse and the word founda…

Road Trip - St. Valentine - Native Americans

Mrs. S. is continuing to take the kids on an educational road trip across the United States every Tuesday. I believe they have investigated over 20 states so far!

They also worked on a painted 'stain-glass window' yesterday afternoon and we put it to use on our 'love' billboard to celebrate St. Valentine. While I'm not a huge fan of the commercialism surrounding the holiday - I WILL take the opportunity to celebrate love. God is Love. 1 John 4:8. So - Happy Valentine's Day ;).

Lastly (for the pics anyway) - we are learning about Native Americans this week. So the kids tried their hand at beadwork and I think they did beautifully!

Enjoy the pics.
