Believing in Jesus' Unconditional Love.

Hi! We have read so much about believing in Jesus and His healing and the Pharisees challenging Him... John 3, 4, 5 -- It's an amazing amount to reflect on and take in -- so I'm going to focus on one piece. We are all pretty familiar with this verse :

John 3:16 -- For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that all who BELIEVE in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

and what about John 3:17, one of my favorite verses --

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.

Amen!

And Jesus proves this through His healing of the broken. He doesn't condemn the woman at the well, He saves her. In old testament times, sickness was related to sin -- and now Jesus walks around healing the sick -- even on the Sabbath -- the sacred day of rest. His love stretches far past the earthly boundaries. His love is unconditional.

So our job it seems when Jesus says in John 13:34-35 (So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
-- it is not to judge what others are doing but to love like Jesus loves. Unconditionally. Brennan Manning, a devout follower of Jesus, once said -- "Come as you are and not as you should be, because none of us are as we should be."

In John 3:16 it says if we 'believe', we are saved. Not because we worked out every kink in our life and now we deserve His love and are saved -- we believe in His unconditional, all-encompassing love for us.

What does 'believe' mean in your life? When I really 'believe' in something, I live it. For example, if someone told me that the beautiful cake sitting in front of me was both healthy and delicious and I truly believed them -- I would act on it. I would eat that cake and share it with those I love and learn to make that cake for my family.

Believing in Jesus allows us to trust just how much He loves us and wants what is best for us. He is not only worthy of our time but His love is so big, He wants to carry our burdens as well.

I pray we are all able to believe with our whole heart the depth of love Jesus has for all His children -- and that we may reflect that love in this world. Amen!!!

Back to School!?!?!? - Well not quite yet but getting closer!

Hi and hope everyone is having a very blessed summer. Although I'm not 100% ready to roll into the new school year yet, the anticipation of fall is starting to build. It's always exciting to see what Jesus will unfold through our time together. I pray that we are all able to grow in faith and love and that He will guide our time together.

A little bit of business.

First off we are looking to set up a work day either August 18 or 25. Can you please text or email me (or comment below) which day may work better. We can use all the help we can get. Projects include : tinning back side of roof, new back door, replacing front sidewalk with pavers, and painting outside. Also, could you tell me which project you might be interested in helping with. There will be some overlap -- but it would be good to have an idea so people can bring tools as needed.

I have posted this year's school calendar to the Upcoming Events. Please take note. Also our daily schedule has changed some so plea…

Garbage Pickup. End of Year BBQ. Music. Evan's Graduation.

Thank you to everyone for a great day and wonderful year. I continue to feel very blessed to work with and grow in faith with the children and families of BCS. The community of people God has put together is so beautiful.  Thank-you God for blessing us!

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

I'm going to launch right into the bible reading for the summer. I think everyday should start and end with Jesus -- and if you fill up the middle with Him too, it's a magical recipe... and only one ingredient necessary! :) Jesus.

If you don't read this post right away and feel like you are behind - don't worry! and most of all don't give up! Just join the reading for the day.  We read the New Living Translation (NLT) Bible at home and at school. But you are welcome to read any version you prefer. The best translation is the one you read! :) Here is a lin…
