I AM not I know

John 9

I really can't get enough of this story. In John 9:30 the man born blind says, "He healed my eyes, and yet you don't know where he comes from? --9:33 "If this man were not from God, he couldn't have done it."

Amen! God is love -- love is from God. Here is a man, Jesus, so full of God that He exudes love by healing and forgiving and loving the unlovable. He is an example of God and therefore an example of love. He's awesome! And it's really, completely amazing to me that God can be so incredibly powerful and so completely love. It is the most beautiful combination really.

Then we have the Pharisees...  they pull the defense card and start calling the healed man names and then they proceed to throw him out.

Which, brings us right into 'Spiritual Blindness'. In John 9:41 Jesus says, "If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see."

I am so guilty of saying, "I know" after someone says something. I don't usually (at least not since my teen years, ugh:) mean it like, "I know, please quick talking" -- I just mean - cool or I saw that too and that it was neat.... but I still feel like when I say it, I shouldn't. I feel a smile would suit the situation better, less words -- so I can fully understand the other person instead of me making sure the other person knows, that I know -- ok, anyway, the Pharisees. I feel like the Pharisees are 'I know-ing' Jesus. They are so busy telling Him that they already know all about Moses, that they are completely missing Jesus' story. Watching Jesus' beauty and actions to see who He really is... the I AM!

I saw a quote the other day, (I may be para-phrasing slightly), "If you are busy judging them, you won't have time to love them."...

Thank you God for loving us and help us to see each other through your eyes. Amen.

2017 Fall Fest

Thank you to everyone! It was such a magical day for me and I hope everyone else enjoyed it as well. The family of people that the school brings together really does warm my heart.

Even with the rain, the kiddos picked up garbage - with happy hearts! Their willingness and excitement to serve puts a smile on my face... even in less than perfect conditions. I don't have as many pictures this year - my camera battery died... I guess I'm slipping in some respects, but I also just really enjoyed the day.... a gentle rain, swinging, picking up ditches, hot cocoa, food, community, wild kratts, a hay ride, frisbee, music, sunshine after a cloudy day, mud pies, adventuring, a fire - Thank you God for showering us with your blessings!!!

And all God's children said... Amen!
