Serving

Hey All!

We have another serving event coming up. It's so exciting to have an opportunity to train and disciple our children in serving others and looking past themselves (even if it's just for a couple hours) -- putting them on a path to freedom!

After our last few serve events, we would like to set a few expectations along with more detailed expectations for the next event specifically. Please go over with your child/ren and be prepared to help enforce these requirements with them.

All Serving Events Going Forward
We ask that each parent focus on using this opportunity to teach/help your child/ren serve. If you feel your child is too young to serve the whole time, please just bring them for as long as they are able to serve and then take them home when they get tired. Every little bit helps. Our goal in all serve events is to teach our children the beauty of forgetting about self and reaching out to others and bringing light to a darkened world.

Specific to our next serve event
Hello everyone. This is Danielle Monteith.  I've asked Anna to send this message out prior to our Tuesday April 2 pantry meal so that we understand the expectations of the night.

We will be serving food again to any guests that choose to come.  Kids will be singing songs.  Making Easter cards To hand out.  Passing out and or reading books/bibles. Visiting with guests. And various serving jobs that can rotate through.  I know the time can get long but try hard to think of serving others and the joy that brings!

What we are not allowed to do is run in hallway as counseling sessions are going on and we need to respect the quiet they need for that .  We cannot go play in gym as property may be in there that is not ours.  We are granted permission to use the room we serve food in and that is it. Therefore we cannot go to other places.   Bathrooms are only exception.  We need to be mindful of those in serving room as well.  No running due to cords by hot food and drinks and so we don't trip anyone or spill their food.  As always encourage kindness towards others and manners in serving.

We are so thankful to do this serving project together and we thank you all for your willing hearts.
Just like you've been learning in school with discipleship focus...our night is about doing things for someone else!  It can be  such  a blessing when we aren't focused on ourselves.

Back to School!?!?!? - Well not quite yet but getting closer!

Hi and hope everyone is having a very blessed summer. Although I'm not 100% ready to roll into the new school year yet, the anticipation of fall is starting to build. It's always exciting to see what Jesus will unfold through our time together. I pray that we are all able to grow in faith and love and that He will guide our time together.

A little bit of business.

First off we are looking to set up a work day either August 18 or 25. Can you please text or email me (or comment below) which day may work better. We can use all the help we can get. Projects include : tinning back side of roof, new back door, replacing front sidewalk with pavers, and painting outside. Also, could you tell me which project you might be interested in helping with. There will be some overlap -- but it would be good to have an idea so people can bring tools as needed.

I have posted this year's school calendar to the Upcoming Events. Please take note. Also our daily schedule has changed some so plea…
