Garbage Pickup

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. It’s been such a beautiful week so far.

I just wanted to touch base about the end of the year garbage pickup. We do still plan on doing it... but we are just going to wait until a nice day - and probably in the evening/afternoon so no one has to worry about taking work off to take part. I’m not sure when it will be- probably in the next couple weeks. If you would like to take part, please text me! I won’t make a formal announcement; I will just let know whoever is interested.

I know this year looked different in so many ways, but I am still incredibly thankful for another year at BCS... learning and growing with the kids and families. I pray that families are enjoying learning and growing together. Please let me know if you have any questions about summer learning or need some summer reading books from the school.

Thank you God for loving us so completely... and never giving up on us. Romans 8:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever…

April 20 to April 24.

Good Morning.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

This week we are on days 149-153... or something close. :)

We are continuing the 2 days for math and language arts 1-3 - so we are not close to those days with those books.

Multiplication tables and story writing for 5th.

We are still on our days for reading, along with working on little projects science/social studies. Please make these projects your own. Bring them to life in your family. The guide in the back of the book are just ideas, please expand and modify as you see fit.

Bible: Finish reading Colossians. Please continue on with a 1/2 chapter or a chapter a day with your family throughout summer. If you want suggestions on what to read or if you have questions, let me know!

Bible verse this week : 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I could speak all the languages of the earth and of the angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Completeness Through Christ.

Colossians 2:7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on Him.
Colossians 2:10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is head over every ruler and authority.
When our completeness, our worth, our lives are built on Jesus, we are free. He can never be taken from us nor will He leave us. He guides us with love and peace and shows us a different way to live... and it is not as this world lives.
His way calls us to root down in Him... and He sent us the Holy Spirit as our advocate, our helper because we spent the 4,000 years leading up to Jesus proving we could not do this on our own. So God came to us and through the life and death of His son we were made new. It’s a beautiful truth that I never get tired of hearing.
As I root down in Him, I realize, His helper has been sent to help me with everything. Little choices, big choices, and everything in between. We weren’t designed to rely on powers of this world to make choices for us - we were des…

April 12-16.

First Off, Happy Easter!!! Christ is risen!

This week, April 12 - April 16 we will be on days 144-148... at least for reading. I’m going to continue to double up on math and language arts days for grades 1-3 since we are reviewing.

Math for 5th grade, please continue on with 12, 13, 14, 15 times tables (just one a day)- and any other they need work on.

Also, we will be reading Colossians over the next 2 weeks, another letter (or epistle) from Paul. This letter is about how we can make the Good News about Jesus part of our lives and thoughts. We plan on reading about 1/2 chapter per day.

Bible verse this week : Colossians 3:14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in harmony.

Philippians 3:1-11... Into the Unknown! :).. Sing it out!

I just wanted to elaborate on the beautiful scripture we read this morning. Philippians 3:1-11
Paul talks about how there is no human effort that can bring us to God, but that it is a gift given to us because of what Christ Jesus has done for us. And that although Paul, when he was Saul, walked a near blameless life as far as the written law, Paul now counts it as nothing because of what Christ has done - the infinite value in His love for us. And then the clincher: “For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.” -Philippians 3:9.
And this is where the Holy Spirit... the miracle of the Holy Spirit within each one of us comes to life. Faith being an intangible, untouchable, mystical element is not for us to hold onto or rationalize - the Holy Spirit acts as a bridge for our souls to connect with the mystical... and venture  “into the unknown!” :) yes, I even sang it this morning.
The Holy Spirit, Jesus’ presence multiplied infinitely because of His death on the cross …

April 6 to April 10. Transitioning.

Hey All! How is everyone doing?

We will be on days 138-143 this week.

As we are beginning to wrap up a few things for the school year, I encourage you to find creative ways to learn and grow as a family. 5th grade will finish up their math workbooks this week. After they finish, I would like them to work on their 12, 13, 14, & 15 times tables... and any other they need reviewing. Perhaps just pick one table (1-10) and a second table from the (12-15) group for each day. Feel free to be creative in reviewing anything from the year.

1-3rd Math. If you would like to take a break from math facts and do 2 pages/day from the math workbook, that would work. That is what our family is going to do since they are review pages - but you can decide for yourself. Otherwise, you can finish the last review days over the summer as well.

5th will also be finishing up language arts. When the workbook is done, please finish up the year by writing a story! This can be fiction or based on facts.
